Why We Built This Site

Utah does not place every criminal-history record in one public database. Coalville is the Summit County seat, while the main justice complex is in the Silver Summit and Park City area, so civic and records destinations are not always in the same place. Summit County Sheriff holds sheriff reports and county booking material. Utah Courts keeps filed charges, hearings, judgments, and dispositions in the court system. The Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification supplies subject-only access to a person's Utah repository record, while Utah Department of Corrections covers state custody and supervision. The state notification registry is another distinct source.
