Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Summit County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search tool signals acceptance of the full terms. They set limits on lawful use, explain that the resource is independent from Summit County and Utah government, and preserve the strict ban on any Fair Credit Reporting Act purpose. The conditions also address outside links, warranties, liability, and ownership. Anyone who does not agree with every part should stop using the website and its tools.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected to Summit County, the State of Utah, or any government body. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government authority. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve them on demand, perform official checks, or submit filings for a visitor.

Its role is to identify the Summit County Sheriff, Utah Courts, the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah notification registry as separate official sources, while also providing access to optional third-party tools.

Access to Summit County government records is governed by Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act. BCI criminal-history collection and dissemination follow Utah Code §53-10-108. These terms do not expand a right of access under either law.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is allowed only when it is lawful and does not interfere with others. You agree not to:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Utah Code Title 53, Chapter 29 places specific limits on misuse of the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Notification and Registration Website. Its public data supports safety awareness, never vigilantism or unlawful adverse treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, background reports, or other consumer reports. The site and linked advertising tools are not designed for regulated screening. You may not use their data to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A lawful regulated purpose requires an authorized Utah channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a qualified Utah lawyer can assess how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement rule applies to a particular set of facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, custody, sealing, and expungement can change a record. Gaps and delays are possible. Nothing published here is an official statement from Summit County Sheriff, Utah Courts, BCI, or any other public body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to public offices, court portals, legal resources, or outside search providers. We do not operate those destinations and accept no responsibility for their content, availability, prices, security, or privacy practices. Their own terms apply after a visitor leaves this site.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Summit County Criminal History or the relevant content partner. Copying, changing, distributing, or building on that material requires prior written permission unless law permits the use.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent Utah law permits, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from the website, its content, or information supplied by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, actions, fees, and costs caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Utah law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Utah.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain effective. The affected term will be limited only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
